Good afternoon everybody and Happy Spring!!
I have planted some zucchini in Chobani Yogurt cups along with my basil plants. The plants will be easy to scoop out with a spoon and place in their permanent garden spot. This way I can have a bumper crop. One planted now and another planted in about four weeks. I have a small garden area and I'm fighting the deer and bunnies in the neighborhood! arg. So, I'm only putting out 5 zucchini plants at first. I am anxious to see how they do. I'll have to put a reminder on my calendar to start more zucchini in Chobanies three weeks after I plant these. Here in NC the last day for spring frost is typically April 15th. So these plants have another week inside then it's off to the garden.
If anyone has any deer fighting recommendations ...help...I'd love to hear, it has been so hard to grow ANY thing the last few years because they eat my plants straight up!! They also eat my hostas and my hydrangeas. : ( So bumms me out...
I made a greenhouse this weekend for my lettuce with PVC pipe and semi-clear plastic. The cost was under $15.00 and I have leftover plastic for other projects. I will post PICTURES of this and of my cute little zucchini plants this evening.
Will post later...
