Warm Lemon Water Hype, Fact or Fiction?

Lemon water... yessss... I'm seeing a lot of hooplaaa about lemon water in the news today.  Here is my take:  I incorporated warm lemon water every morning to my Fix Your Digestion routine.  At first I started out with just a glass of warm water, because the Dalai Lama drinks a glass every morning when he gets up at 5:00 a.m.  It is a prominent element in eastern medicine and has been for centuries.

Six months or so after I began drinking the warm water first thing, I was doing my self introspection research, and ran across the warm lemon water every morning.  I read that first it gets your enzymatic system going, second, it boosts vitamin C, third, it slows down digestion making you feel fuller and giving your digestive system time to absorb the nutrients in your food at a better rate.

I have never read... anywhere... how MUCH lemon to add to the water?!  So I'm like, reading every article, waiting for the pop of information, waiting and reading... how much lemon, how much lemon, how much lemon?! Holy crap, how can I get this info?  Well, needless to say I'm winging it, I've been using one wedge, approximately one 6th of a lemon, in each 6 (six) ounce glass of warm water.  I start with hot because it cools quickly.  If anyone knows how much lemon, please comment and give your reference point, I'm curious!!

It remains to be seen what the benefits are, I like drinking it for some reason, it has a fresh, clean, crisp feel first thing in the morning and I like that. If I see benefits directly related, I'll post...

DRAWBACK:  The only drawback I've read about is that it can erode tooth enamel.  (Not that all that sugar doesn't erode your enamel or acid in coffee, that's another blog post).  Just don't swill it around in your mouth, get down to business and swallow, ummmm quickly..
